The Vision of the Merciful Jesus
Diary §47Saint Faustina saw Jesus clothed in a white garment, with one hand raised in blessing and the other touching His garment at the breast. Two rays came from beneath the garment — one red and one pale. She was instructed to have an image painted according to what she saw, with the signature "Jesus, I trust in You."
The Vision of Hell
Diary §741Faustina recorded an experience in which she was led through the abysses of hell. She listed the forms of suffering she witnessed and emphasized that she wrote about them so that no soul could claim that hell did not exist. She described it as a place of great torment, where souls suffer despair, hatred, and the absence of God.
The Vision of Purgatory
Diary §20Faustina described being led by her guardian angel to a misty place filled with suffering souls. She understood that their greatest suffering was their longing for God. She also saw the Blessed Virgin Mary visiting them, and learned that the souls called her "The Star of the Sea."
The Angel of Wrath
Diary §474Faustina saw an angel described as the executor of divine wrath, preparing to chastise the earth. Her own pleading seemed powerless until she received an interior prayer offered to the Holy Trinity. This experience led directly to the Chaplet instructions given the following day — the origin of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy.
The Fountain of Mercy
Diary §1182The Diary repeatedly uses "fountain," "abyss," and "ocean" as images for the inexhaustible mercy flowing from Christ. The fountain of mercy is associated with the Cross and Christ's pierced Heart. These are powerful spiritual images for the boundless nature of God's mercy toward all souls.
