Time until 3:00 PM (Hour of Mercy):

“At three o'clock, implore My mercy” (Diary §1320)

What is the Hour of Mercy?

The Hour of Mercy is centered on three o'clock in the afternoon, the hour associated with Christ's death on the Cross. Jesus told Saint Faustina:

“At three o'clock, implore My mercy, especially for sinners; and, if only for a brief moment, immerse yourself in My Passion, particularly in My abandonment at the moment of agony. This is the hour of great mercy for the whole world.” (Diary §1320)
“In this hour I will refuse nothing to the soul that makes a request of Me in virtue of My Passion.” (Diary §1320)

How to Observe the Hour of Mercy

Recall the Passion

Enter briefly into the Passion of Jesus. Remember His abandonment and agony.

Pray for Sinners

Implore mercy especially for sinners, through the merits of Christ's Passion.

Glorify Mercy

Adore and glorify Divine Mercy. If possible, make the Stations of the Cross or visit the Blessed Sacrament.

Pray the Chaplet

The Chaplet of Divine Mercy is especially appropriate for this hour, though entries 1320 and 1572 do not command one exclusive formula.

If duties prevent a chapel visit, immerse yourself in prayer wherever you are, even for a brief moment. (Diary §1572)
